Yixing has been long honored with the top landscape in South Jiangsu Province. It has hills and waters all across the city with mild weather and clear seasons. Yixing is most famous for its “Capital of Pottery”, “World of Caves”, “Oasis of Tea”, and “Sea of Bamboo”, which are the key parts in the National Taihu Lake Scenery Zone. With a fastening of urbanization, the city changes day by day, with its honors of National Clean City, National Gardenlike City, National Environmental Friendly Demonstration City and National Eco-friendly City. The government has been promoting a concept of Green Yixing and there are two 4A Grade sightseeing point in the city. In 2007, the afforestation ratio of Yixing has been 44% and average green area per person has reached 14 m2.
